To go to the Buton Regency, we can use the sea route speed boat ride Sagori Express or Super Jet. Travel time from Turkey to Baubau about 5 hours. After arriving in Baubau we can use a landline to Buton district to hire a car to travel about 2-3 hours long.
But to get to the fortress palace Buton we do not need all the way to the Buton Regency, because fort is located only about 3 km from the center of Bau Bau. The fort was built in the sixteenth century by the Buton, made of volcanic stone arranged neatly with lime as an adhesive. At the time of the kingdom of Buton, the castle serves as a base defense of pirate attacks and the Dutch colonialists. This fort has 12 entrances and exits, each of which has a name. Inside the fort there are relics of historical attractions as follows:
Sultan Mosque, built in the XVI century AD that the architects describe the unity of the people who cored the teachings of Islam.
Flagpole created / founded in the sixteenth century AD The pole is made of wood ± 50 meters high.
Sultan Buton former home is now used as a museum (Palace Wolo).
Cannon made in the seventeenth century as many as 52 pieces.
